Respite Care in Boston, MA
You can’t pour from an empty cup. Let us cover for you so you can rest.
When was the last time you had a full day to yourself? A full week? If you can’t remember, you’re not alone. Family caregivers often put themselves last—and the guilt of wanting a break makes it even harder.
Here’s the truth: taking a break doesn’t make you a bad daughter, son, or spouse. It makes you a sustainable one. Caregiver burnout is real—and when you burn out, everyone suffers. Including the person you’re caring for.
Respite care means someone qualified steps in so you can step away. For a few hours. A weekend. A week-long vacation. Whatever you need to come back ready to keep going.
How Respite Care Works
A Few Hours
Doctor’s appointment. Haircut. Lunch with a friend. The kind of small breaks that feel impossible right now but make a big difference in how you feel.
Regular Weekly Time
Maybe every Tuesday afternoon is yours. A scheduled break you can count on each week. Something to look forward to instead of waiting until you’re completely depleted.
Weekend Coverage
Your sibling is getting married. Your grandkid has a graduation. You have something you need to attend—and we can cover for you so you can be there fully.
Vacation Coverage
A real vacation. When did you last take one? We can provide extended care—multiple days, 24/7 if needed—so you can actually leave and not worry the entire time.
Emergency Backup
Sometimes you get sick. Sometimes something unexpected comes up. Knowing you have someone you can call for backup care makes everything less stressful.
Overnight Care
If you haven’t slept through the night in months, this alone can be life-changing. We stay overnight so you can rest—really rest.

About That Guilt…
We hear it all the time: “I feel guilty leaving her.” “What if something happens while I’m gone?” “Nobody can care for him the way I do.”
Here’s what we’ve learned: your loved one often does just fine with someone else. Sometimes even better—because they pick up on your stress, and when you’re exhausted, that stress is high. Taking a break doesn’t mean you care less. It means you’re taking care of yourself so you can keep caring for them.
And yes, our caregivers are trained. They know what to do. They’ll follow your instructions. Your parent or spouse will be safe.
Getting Started
First step: We meet with you to understand your loved one’s needs, routines, and preferences. We take detailed notes.
Before your first break: We recommend a “trial run” where you’re still home (or nearby) while our caregiver gets comfortable. This helps your loved one adjust and gives you peace of mind.
Then: We’re just a call away whenever you need coverage. Regular schedule or as-needed—whatever works for you.
